Introduction
Eating disorders are complex diseases which can have life long psychological and physical consequences. At FRWHS Eating Disorders Program, our goals are to encourage clients to learn to love their body, develop a healthy relationship with food, improve self-esteem, regain his or her identity beyond the eating disorder and reclaim health and life. We know early, effective treatment of eating and body image problems leads to the best chance of a full recovery.
We provide a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary outpatient approach for individuals and families. Our caring team of physicians, psychotherapists, a nutritionist and a family therapist treats each client with a personalized program to best meet his or her needs.
Our clients
We treat adolescents and adults with possible eating and body image problems. We offer an initial assessment and ongoing care, and referral to other outpatient or inpatient treatment programs if needed.

Evaluation
We first complete an initial 2 1/2 hour evaluation, including a psychological and nutritional assessment. Any previous medical information is important to bring to this appointment. Adolescents who are less than 18 years of age need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Individuals 18 years of age or older can choose whether to have a parent or guardian attend the appointment, however, it is recommended to bring a support person to the initial evaluation. Partners, spouses, friends and other family members are welcome. The evaluation ends with individual or family feedback regarding diagnosis and treatment recommendations. If a recent medical evaluation has not been completed prior to the intake this may be one of the first steps following the evaluation with the Eating Disorders Program.
