Introduction
Physical therapists are health care professionals who diagnose and treat individuals of all ages with medical problems or other health-related conditions that restrict their abilities to move and function on a daily basis.
Physical therapists analyze each individual’s condition and create a plan to treat and encourage movement, pain reduction, functionality and disability prevention. Also, physical therapists work with patients to maintain mobility by developing programs to support fitness and wellness for healthier and more involved lifestyles.
A physical therapist must receive a graduate degree from an accredited physical therapist program before taking the national licensure examination that allows them to practice. Many programs offer the doctor of physical therapy (DPT) degree.
