Introduction
The Internal Medicine Department team will deliver primary care to adult patients, including those with complex medical issues, including acute and chronic care and provide consultative services for colleagues requesting additional support.
Doctors of internal medicine see and treat adults for diseases. Often they deal with diagnosis and nonsurgical treatment of uncommon and dangerous disease. These "internists" treat patients regardless of the severity or commonality of a sickness and make sure that patients are aware of how to prevent disease to lead healthy lives. Doctors of internal medicine can also be hospitalists. Hospitalists provide care to patients in a hospital setting, often in consultation with surgeries specialists.
